DESCRIPTION:Learn how to make delicious Oxymel with Marie-Lies of Fleur + Forage\, with late summer herbs\, like Goldenrod and Tulsi\, harvested at Stellar Roots Herb Farm.  Oxymel is made by creating a menstruum of honey and apple cider vinegar\, in which plants are macerated to extract their medicinal properties.  Oxymel can be taken straight\, or added to sparkling water to create mocktails!  These non-alcoholic beverages are suitable for all ages.  We will start in the fields for plant ID and harvest\, and then move to the barn for medicine making.  Students will sample Oxymel and take a jar home to enjoy.\nTo sign up visit Stellar Roots Farm‘s website.

We will identify different plants that can be used to make herbal shakers and wild foraged pesto. If time permits we will make a flower essence of Calendula. \nStudents will take home a portion of the preparations we make in class. DESCRIPTION:The Community Medicine Making Workshops take place several times a year. Each workshop will focus on a different herbal preparation skill: teas\, tinctures\, salves\, fire cider and/or shakers. DESCRIPTION:On March 13th from 5-7PM \, I will lead the first plant ramble of the year. We will explore the plants and trees that grow around Brownwood Park in East Atlanta. We will cover some basic botany as well as medicinal and food uses for the plants we encounter. \nCost: The rambles are by donation\, with a suggested donation of $20.
