Herbal Basics for Everyone with Patricia Kyritsi Howell
Patricia Kyristi Howell will be teaching her workshop “Herbal Basics for Everyone” as a benefit for the Fleur and Forage Free Clinic. This is the only in depth class she is teaching in 2026.
The class will take place on October 10th and 11th at the Fleur and Forage Herbal Studio located right outside of Avondale Estates. The address will be given upon completed registration + payment. The class will be from 9AM until 4PM with 1 hr for lunch.

About the class:
Designed to answer the questions herbal beginners ask, this workshop gives you the confidence you need to use herbs safely and effectively for every day health issues. Whether you are a do-it-yourself herbalist who likes to make herbal preparations at home, or you just want to know what to ask for when you shop for herbs, this is the worshop for you!
Topics covered include:
🌱An easy to understand description about how herbs work, what they can and can’t do, and how choose the right herbs or herbal product.
🌱 Various types of herbal preparations you can buy (or make) and how to use them safely.
🌱How to calculate doses (Tip: Never follow the directions on the bottle!)
🌱Possible herb/drug interactions with suggestions for on-line resources
🌱Detailed information about some herbs everyone should know how to use:
echinacea, garlic, elder, goldenseal, eleuthero/Siberian ginseng, American
ginseng, Asian ginseng, ashwaganda, holy basil, rhodiola, reishi, black
haw/crampbark, chamomile, ginkgo, kava kava, lemon balm, passionflower,
dandelion, ginger, and stinging nettles.
🌱The class comes with extensive handouts, herbal tea and tincture tastings as well as medicine making demos.
There are 30 tickets available, the first 15 cost $400 then it will be $500 for the last 15 tickets.
To get to the classroom, you have to climb some stairs. Sorry it is not wheelchair accessible.
